When I was in high school, I had the same routine every morning. I would wake up to my alarm at 7:20, then I would crawl out of bed and put my uniform on. I would throw my hair up in a super messy ponytail then brush my teeth. I would go downstairs and eat a breakfast bar, grab my backpack and walk out the door.
On this particular day, I did all of those normal things, but when I walked outside to my car, I noticed something unusual. There was a little animal sitting right behind my car. As I approached it, it did not move but I noticed that it was a little fawn. Since it was behind my car, I did not want to back my car out and accidentally hit the baby deer. I was already a little behind schedule, and I had to pick up a friend on my way to school.
I did not want to hurt or scare the fawn away, but I knew I had to get it to move before I could move my car. First, I took a picture of it because I thought it was cute and I knew I would never get an opportunity to get close to one again. Then, I tried getting closer to it so it would get up and move. Nothing was working but I realized it was probably scared of me, so I walked back into my garage and waited a few minutes. When I came back out, it had left and I could not see it anywhere.
At this point it was around 8, and I had to get to my class by 8:20 and pick up my friend on the way. I lived around 15 minutes away from my school. I knew I had to move fast, so I quickly got in my car and backed out at a faster than normal speed. In my driveway was my grandma’s car, which was normally not there. I saw it in my back up camera, but I was going unusually fast around the side of her car. I looked to my right and noticed that her car was also moving along with mine. I realized I had hit her car. I got out to see if I had ruined either of our cars. There were two plastic like pieces on both of our cars that had latched onto each other, which is why her car was moving with mine and there were a few minor scratches on her car. I popped the plastic pieces back in to place and rubbed the scratches on her car and it had looked like nothing happened. I explained to my friend why I was so late, but everything ended up working out fine because we got to school just in time.
